|  | | | VHS kicked off National Nursing Home Week this year with a punch of pizazz! Each day staff united together with themed dress down days and delicious treats for staff and residents, proving to be extra special for everyone in our facilities. The week long celebration ended traditionally with a cookout and the annual employee service awards ceremony. The Employee of the Year and Most Inspirational Employees were recognized and presented with special gifts, and each staff member received an embroidered windbreaker. National Nursing Home Week was both a wonderful and memorable week for all. | May 2009 |

James River | | National Nursing Home Week was kicked off with a bang again this year in May at VHS. The festive staff members let their energetic spirit shine through as they decorated the halls and nursing stations at each facility. From various resident and staff challenges to games and themed dress down days with yummy treats to eat, everyone joined in on the fun-filled activities. Some of the staff events included "Tropical Day" with refreshing Rita's Italian Ice served, "Sports Day" including a Nacho Bar, and "Oldies Day" complete with a 50s themed diner and root beer floats. The week long celebration ended with a cookout and the annual employee awards ceremony. All staff received a special gift; this year a canvas VHS folding chair perfect for the upcoming summer months. National Nursing Home Week proved to be not only a wonderful and memorable week for all VHS staff, but a tradition that will be continued for years to come. |
